LDS767  &  Image Simulation USA Scenery

For those of you that use the excellent scenery created by  Image Simulation  for a number of US Airports, you will be happy to hear that I intend to create procedures for these airports first before any others that I will be doing as time permits.  I have been using their scenery for some time now and can recommend this scenery to anyone who may want to fly in the USA.

Yes it is payware, but believe me, money well spent.

Atlanta (KATL)  and  Charlotte (KCLT) have now been completed, with more Airport Procedures to follow.

PMDG  &  LDS767  Downloads

PMDG  &  LDS767  Installer

Please note the installers for the LDS767 and PMDG Procedures now come in two versions.  An FSX and
FS2004 version.

The FSX version will find your Flight Sim installed directory on both Windows Vista and  Windows XP OS

The FS2004 version does the above for Windows XP but not for Windows Vista, in this case you will need
to point the installer to your Flight Sim installed directory using the Browse Button. Make sure it is the Flight
Sim's main directory  eg.   C:\FS2004



FSNav  Procedures

The FSNav procedure file has been temporally removed , I have not had the time to do any updates for
this flight planning utility.

It has been noticed for some time that those using the Windows Vista OS may not be able to listen to
the audio files unless they have a certain plugin, hopefully within the next few days I will have updated
this area with some more recent files for your listening pleasure, and ones that work on Vista.




 




Kai Tak Airport   -  The Checkerboard Approach

As a then young man I sat watching the TV looking at this very large aircraft ( new B747 Jumbo Jet)
on final approach to what I believed was a runway to the right on my TV screen, now very low,  and
only a few hundred feet above the ground I fully expected the aircraft to continue with the standard
screech of tyres as they touch the tarmac, to my amazement the aircraft started turning right.   
What !!!  . . .  where's he going I thought to myself, I was soon to realise that he wasn't lost or worse
and that the pilot had turned to the right to land on a runway that was offset from his flight path by a
few hundred feet. I sat staring at the screen in unbelief for some time not believing what I saw, how
could this be and where was this place.
Well I was soon to find out that the airport was Kai Tak International Airport Hong Kong and from
that point on Kai Tak Airport was to hold a special place for me.

A number of years has passed since then, yet it still holds a special place me even though it's
now closed, and even more so now that I am a avid flight simulation enthusiast.
So now that I am doing Approach and Departure Procedures for airports in the Asian Region what else should be more than appropriate than to create the much loved approaches for Kai Tak Airport.


Kai Tak Approaches Rwy13 IGS  and  Rwy31 ILS/DME for the PMDG Aircraft
created for use with FS2004


The AFCAD file made for this package only has enough scenery in it to complete the approaches
this was done so as to keep frame rates up, this will give you a smooth approach right down to the
runway.
